CBG

aka cannabigerol

CBG (cannabigerol) is sometimes called the 'mother cannabinoid' because most other cannabinoids derive biosynthetically from CBGA. CBG is non-psychoactive and is studied for potential anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. CBG is found in low concentrations in most cannabis cultivars but is bred for in dedicated CBG-rich chemovars.

Example: CBG flower has earthy, floral aromas and is popular for daytime wellness use.

Etymology: Standard chemistry naming convention.
