COA
aka certificate of analysis · lab report
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a third-party laboratory report documenting the cannabinoid profile, terpene profile, residual solvents, pesticide screen, microbial contamination, heavy metals, and water activity of a hemp or cannabis product. Reputable hemp brands publish COAs for every batch and link them by batch ID on the product page or via QR code on the label.
Example: Always check the COA before buying a new brand of THCA flower.
Etymology: Standard food/pharma/agriculture term applied to hemp post-2018 Farm Bill.
