Decarb Percentage
aka decarboxylation efficiency
Decarb percentage is the proportion of THCA that has converted to active Delta-9 THC at a given moment. Fresh cured flower might be 90-95% THCA / 5-10% THC; old or sun-baked flower might show 30-40% decarb. The percentage matters because COAs labeled 'total THC' multiply remaining THCA by 0.877 before adding to existing Delta-9.
Example: This batch tested at 8% decarb — fresh flower, plenty of THCA still intact.
Etymology: Cannabis-lab vernacular; entered consumer COAs in the late 2010s.
