Terpene Profile
aka terp profile · terpene breakdown · aroma profile
A terpene profile is the mix of aromatic compounds measured in a cannabis or hemp product. It usually lists dominant terpenes such as myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, pinene, linalool, humulene, terpinolene, and ocimene. Buyers use the profile to compare aroma, flavor direction, and likely effect tendencies, but it should be read alongside cannabinoid potency and freshness.
Example: The terpene profile is heavy in caryophyllene and limonene, so expect peppery citrus notes.
Etymology: Laboratory and cultivar vocabulary adapted from botanical chemistry.
