Terpinolene

Terpinolene is a less common but distinctive cannabis terpene with a fresh, piney, slightly floral aroma. It is the dominant terpene in cultivars like Jack Herer, Dutch Treat, and Ghost Train Haze. Terpinolene-dominant chemovars are often described as uplifting and clear-headed. Compared to myrcene or caryophyllene, terpinolene typically appears in much smaller absolute quantities.

Example: This Jack Herer test came back terpinolene-dominant at 0.4%.

Etymology: From 'terpene' + the chemistry suffix '-olene'.
