Total Terpenes

aka total terpene content · TTC

Total terpenes is the sum of all detected terpenes in a COA test. Cannabis flower commonly tests in the 1-3% terpene range; anything above 3% is exceptional. Total terpenes is a useful proxy for flavor intensity and entourage-effect potential, though the specific terpene profile matters more than the total.

Example: Total terpenes of 3.2% — this batch will be loud.

Etymology: Lab-testing English; entered consumer-facing COAs in the late 2010s.
